Press Release - CityMusic Returns in 2024 with Chamber Concert Featuring Premiere of “String Quintet” by Diversity Fellow, Patrick Prejean

CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra will return in 2024 for the continuation of their 20th season with a performance at Praxis Fiber Workshop in Collinwood.

This concert will be one night only and will feature a romantic rendition of Hermann Goetz’s Piano Quintet, Tchaikovsky’s sextet, Souvenir de Florence, and the premiere of Patrick Prejean’s composition, String Quintet.

Prejean, a violist originally from Louisiana, was named CityMusic’s 2023-2024 Diversity Fellow back in August. He has performed in their September, October, and December orchestra series. 

When asked about his composition, Prejean says, “I wrote this piece at the suggestion of Peter Salaff back in 2015. There is a recurring theme that binds the piece together and there are quotes from the works that I performed during that time in the piece itself.”

The January Chamber Series will be held at Praxis Fiber Workshop on Waterloo Road on Friday, January 12, 2024. The performance begins at 7p and seating in the gallery is limited. Admission is free and the program is family-friendly.
